're slated to begin work on a bill offering additional funding for victims of hurricane sandy that would provide an additional $9.7 billion in borrowing authority for the national flood insurance program which is now capped at $20.7 billion. it would also provide the requested $11.5 billion for the fema disaster relief fund, and it also includes some mitigation measures for future disasters. also we expect later debate today on a couple of judicial nominations. earlier this afternoon south carolina governor nikki haley announced she's selected freshman congressman tim scott to fill the seat being vacated by senate jim demint. senator demint leaving to become the president to have heritage foundation, and we'll take a look at what governor haley had to say now. made in responding to hurricane sandy as well as the challenges we face in supporting the long-term recovery of the nation. i knew closely follow reports of the storm's impact on the region. this obviously heard about that today from the first witnesses. you heard about the many injuries and tragic loss of life as well as massive flooding cover structural damage in power outages. a somewhat deeper scum i've been particularly affected by the storms devastation as many friends and colleagues are still dealing with the aftermath. for this reason i'm especially honored to have the opportunity to help with recovery and rebuilding efforts and pleased to be here today. having made several visits to the affected area since the storm hit, putting trips to the president and secretary napolitano and sebelius, had the opportunity to see firsthand the damage and speak with a local officials and most importantly residents about their needs. the conversation serves as a constant reminder that while this is a disaster of epic portions, the suffering is on a personal level affecting families an

.3 billion in transportation-related damages due to superstorm sandy. of that total, the new york mta suffered about 5 billion in dages. it's huge. i never saw anything like it. we have the longest underground tunnel in the world in the brooklyn battery tunnel. i take it almost every day i'm in new york city because my home in brooklyn is connected to it. it was totally filled with water. both tubes, from one end to the other, from the manhattan end to the brooklyn end. ere were close to 100 million gallons of water that had to be pumped out of that tunnel and it's still not back up to snuff. that's one of many examples. there's so many. the mta did a very good job. i want to congratulate joe lhota. they moved their rolling stock to high ground. tried to barricade this awful flood in the best way they could. boy, it's awful. the mta is the largest public transportation system in the country. it's the life blood of new york. it's our circulatory system. 3.5 million people g on and off manhattan island every day to work. wow. 3.5 million people. i guess that's more than the people in mi

walked into two different classrooms at sandy hook elementary. he fired dozens of rounds. he killed 26 people. 18 children pronounced dead at the scene. six adults pronounced dead at the scene. and then two children who survived their initial wounds and were hospitalized later died in hospital. the shooter then killed himself at the school. the associated press is citing a law enforcement official moments ago saying authorities found more than the previously described two guns at the school once they responded. more firearms than the two we have previously heard about. they're not giving any further details yet. but that report just in from the associated press. the students who were not shot, none of them older than fourth graders, were escorted out of the building by police officers this morning. they were taken to a fire station next door. police officers reportedly told some of the children to keep their eyes closed until they had reached the parking lot. law enforcement officials later discover that another person, an adult woman, possibly the shooter's mother was also shot and ki

from sandy, at the beginning of november, there was a lot to make up as we got throughout the course of november. but black friday came back nicely. we actually think that it's more going to affect some of the lower income consumers as you look back at the consumer confidence numbers than the higher end special names. we think it will hold it pretty well throughout the season. >> speaking of high end specialty names, you do favor coors and lululemon, those are some of the highest retailers out there. what do you see coors doing right? what sorts of sales numbers do they need to see this season to justify the valuation? >> they're at about 27 times. which given the kind of growth rate they've seen, i don't think it's all that expensive. the same-store sales were 25% last quarter. don't see that slowing even though we have modeled in a slowdown from that. not just at their retail stores, where they have a lot of room to open more stores. at the wholesale accounts, the big department stores, they're seeing incredible sales increases. they're putting in these shops that triple the busine
